Since middle school is the bridge between childhood and adulthood, as students begin to transition into teenagerhood, we start introducing children to 'adult duties' at this point, to prepare them for the future. However, we do not want to steer our students away from the creative and imaginative world they envisioned for themselves in Elementary, so we find creative ways to combine both for a smooth transition. Since we encourage students to be self-directed from the start, we find that our students are easily able to adjust to our middle school curriculum.
